    01

    Vientiane - Arrival

    Arrival at Vientiane and transfer to your hotel for overnight and relax.

    02

    Vientiane - Sightseeing - Luang Prabang

    After breakfast, we explore Vientiane capital by visiting the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. . En route to Lao’s national precious heritage, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, you will have the opportunity to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. 

    13:50 transfer to train station (13 km from town centre, takes 25 minute drive)

    14:20 arrive at Train station and process check in (arrive one hour before departure)

    15:30 depart by high speed train to Luang Prabang

    18:05 we arrive at Luang Prabang and transfer to hotel

    03

    Luang Prabang - Khuang Si Waterfall

    An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents. 

    we then enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. We visit to the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts and Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures.

    You may also wish to drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can splash around in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest paths.  There’s also an opportunity to visit the bear sanctuary nearby, run by Free The Bears Fund Inc.

    We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic view of the city at sunset and the Mekong River.  The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

    04

    Luang Prabang - Pak Ou Cave - Departure

    This morning, embark on cruise boat upstream on the Mekong River, which gives you a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. And will be transferred to the airport in time for your departing flight.
