(TITC) – Hoi An, the renowned ancient town on Vietnam’s central coast, has been named one of the top six under-the-radar destinations in Asia for pet-friendly travel, according to digital travel platform Agoda.
In its latest feature, “Paws Across Asia”, Agoda highlighted a growing trend of “pawrents” choosing to travel with their pets rather than leaving them behind, fueled by remote work, evolving family dynamics, and a rise in pet-welcoming accommodations and amenities across the region.

Hoi An stands out as a peaceful haven for travellers with pets. Agoda highlighted the town’s flat, walkable Old Quarter and quiet riverside paths, which make exploring on foot effortless. Nearby An Bang Beach offers expansive stretches of sand where pets can freely roam and play.
Furthermore, Hoi An’s vibrant café culture has increasingly embraced four-legged guests, offering open-air courtyard seating. A growing selection of boutique homestays and villas in the area now provide dedicated pet amenities, such as specialized bedding and food bowls. Combined with its relaxed pace and green, tree-lined lanes, Hoi An provides an ideal setting for pet owners seeking a stress-free getaway.
“We’re seeing a clear shift in how people define travel companionship, with pets no longer left behind but planned for”, said Jay Lee, Regional Director, North Asia at Agoda. “Travellers are increasingly seeking out smaller towns and hidden gems that offer more space, a slower pace, and genuine local warmth toward animals”.
