VHO – According to data from Traveloka, along with Phu Quoc, Da Nang is currently the most searched-for accommodation destination on the platform in Vietnam.

Da Nang Was Ranked Second On Lonely Planets List Of The Most Attractive Summer Destinations In Asia

Da Nang has never lost its charm.

A strong wave of exploration is underway in Central Vietnam, with Da Nang continuing to play a central role. However, instead of focusing solely on the city center as before, tourists are increasingly expanding their itineraries to neighboring localities and regions.

This trend reflects a shift in how Vietnamese tourists explore Central Vietnam. While previously a trip was often tied to a single destination, many now opt for multi-destination itineraries, combining various experiences within the same region.

Data from Traveloka shows that during April-May 2026, accommodation searches increased not only in central Da Nang but also spread to many surrounding areas, which are gradually becoming independent destinations with their own unique appeal.

In particular, Marble Mountains – a scenic spot located on the southern coast of Da Nang, along with its peaceful beaches – recorded a 76% increase in accommodation searches.

Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located about 30km south of Da Nang city center, saw a 52% increase.

Son Tra Peninsula, home to Linh Ung Pagoda and boasting a diverse coastal ecosystem, recorded a 45% increase.

Da Nang’s appeal continues to be affirmed as the city has just been ranked second on Lonely Planet’s list of Asia’s most attractive summer destinations .

This recognition reflects the city’s outstanding natural beauty and affirms Da Nang’s increasingly important position on the regional map of tourism, resorts, and experiences.

The Golden Bridge A Captivating Tourist Attraction In Da Nang

What is driving the trend of interregional exploration?

According to data from Traveloka, the trend of expanding search to neighboring areas is driven by three main factors.

First, the series of events taking place in Da Nang in the summer of 2026 will create further incentive for tourists to extend their stay and explore more destinations in the surrounding area.

A highlight is the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026), which was voted one of the Top 9 most worthwhile summer festivals in the world by Travel + Leisure magazine.

In addition, the 4th Da Nang Asian Film Festival (June 28 – July 4) and the Vietnam-Japan Festival 2026 (July 9 – 12) also attracted significant interest from tourists.

Combining multiple events into a single trip tends to encourage travelers to extend their itinerary to nearby locations.

Another factor lies in the diverse experiences offered in each area around the center of Da Nang. The Marble Mountains stand out with their natural landscapes and traditional stone carving villages; the Son Tra Peninsula is attractive for its rich ecosystem and unique seascape.

Meanwhile, Hoi An attracts tourists thanks to its UNESCO-recognized heritage and vibrant nightlife and cultural activities. The differences in resources and experiences make it easy for tourists to combine many activities into a short trip.

The trend of searching by specific regions also shows that Vietnamese and regional travelers are researching and planning more thoroughly before departure.

This is also a trend that Traveloka has observed in many Southeast Asian markets, as travelers are increasingly proactively seeking out specialized experiences instead of focusing solely on the most popular destinations.

The Development Of Infrastructure Services And Connectivity Between Localities Is Making It Easier For Tourists To Design Multi Destination Itineraries Around Da Nang

Da Nang – the gateway to exploring Central Vietnam.

Not only is this evident in search results, but Da Nang’s infrastructure and convenient connectivity are also making it an ideal transit point for exploring Central Vietnam.

From Da Nang, tourists can easily access many outstanding experiences such as Sun World Ba Na Hills with its iconic Golden Bridge, scuba diving activities at the Cu Lao Cham Marine Reserve, the “Memories of Hoi An” live performance art show, or experiencing a basket boat ride in the Bay Mau Coconut Forest.

In addition, iconic bridges of the city such as the Dragon Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Love Bridge, and Nguyen Van Troi Bridge have transcended their role as transportation infrastructure to become popular tourist attractions.

These locations contribute to the allure of the Han River waterfront area, an indispensable part of any exploration of Da Nang.

Da Nang has also been honored twice by the World Travel Awards as “Asia’s Leading Festival and Events Destination” in 2016 and 2022.

This title further solidifies the city’s position on the regional tourism map, while also shaping its image as a vibrant destination with cultural activities, entertainment, and events taking place year-round.

Da Nang’s rise to the top of Traveloka’s search rankings not only reflects seasonal appeal but also highlights a notable shift in how travelers approach central Vietnam.

Instead of exploring a single city, more and more tourists are choosing multi-destination itineraries, connecting beautiful coastal routes, culturally rich heritage cities, and vibrant festivals along the Han River.

The development of infrastructure, services, and connectivity between localities is making it easier for tourists to design multi-destination itineraries. In just one trip, tourists can combine experiences of the sea, heritage, culture, and festivals, fully appreciating the diverse beauty of Central Vietnam.
