- Enjoy a typical and popular local breakfast, just like the locals do.
Itinerary
Early morning transfer to Ba Dinh Square where you will witness the Vietnamese Flag Raising Ceremony (summer, 6:00am; winter, 6:30am). After the ceremony, this is a favourite gathering place for daily morning exercises. If weather permits, take part in the morning activities such as “Tai Chi” and badminton, or walk along and chat with the locals. Enjoy moments of tranquillity while taking in one of the most beautiful tree-lined avenues in the city and passing by many famous landmarks of Ha Noi. Visit Quang An Flower Market before take a walk and view the Red River from the Long Bien Bridge, a historical relic that miraculously survived the war. You will gain a good feel for the Ha Noi way of life when weaving through many narrow streets of the Old Quarter. Get a glimpse into daily life, including shop openings, mobile flower and fruit vendors working, children going to school, locals having coffee and breakfast on sidewalks and people on their vehicles heading to work. Stop and enjoy a typical Ha Noi breakfast if you wish. Drive back to the hotel after breakfast.

Verified PurchaseBy Matteo Ricci May 21, 2026 No Filter. Just Hanoi at Dawn. The flag ceremony was surprisingly moving. I didn't expect to care, but there I was, standing at attention like a fool. Then tai chi—I was terrible, the locals were gracious. The flower market was stunning, cheap, and chaotic. Long Bien Bridge is old and rusty and wonderful; the Red River below is brown and ugly and perfect. The Old Quarter at 7 AM is a different planet—no tourists, just coffee, pho, children going to school. I ate a banh mi and watched it all. This is the real Hanoi. Come early or miss it.

Verified PurchaseBy Hanna Lindgren May 20, 2026 I Still Hear the MorningMonths later, I still wake up sometimes thinking I hear the soft thud of badminton rackets and the gentle whoosh of tai chi hands cutting through morning air. I still smell the flower market—wet roses and crushed jasmine—and feel the iron trembling of Long Bien Bridge beneath my feet as the Red River slid by, indifferent to my wonder. Hanoi's Old Quarter at breakfast time has become a photograph in my mind: steam rising from noodle pots, a child's laugh, the squeak of a bicycle, a woman arranging fruit on a cart older than my mother. I left Vietnam, but that morning stayed.

Verified PurchaseBy Priyanka Desai May 16, 2026 The Morning That Held MeI have always been a night person, but Hanoi reached into my darkness and pulled me toward its dawn. The flag rising over Ba Dinh Square felt like a promise, and when an old man handed me a badminton racket with a toothless grin, I forgot to be shy and just played. Quang An Flower Market was a garden of earthly delights—pink lotus, yellow marigolds, a vendor who tucked a rose behind my ear—and Long Bien Bridge held me over the Red River like a patient grandmother. By the time I sat down for breakfast in the Old Quarter, I was no longer a visitor. I was a temporary local, and Hanoi had adopted me.

Verified PurchaseBy Eliana Marchese May 14, 2026 The Hour Before the World Rushes InThe flag ceremony was a whisper of gold against a lavender sky, and I stood among strangers who had gathered not for spectacle but for a quiet, shared reverence that needed no translation. Quang An Flower Market spilled petals across my path like confetti, and I walked through clouds of jasmine and rose, my sneakers wet with the morning's last dew. Long Bien Bridge creaked beneath my feet, its iron bones singing a war song softened by seventy years of peace, and by the time I sipped my first coffee in the Old Quarter, Hanoi had already given me a lifetime of mornings in just one.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Idris El-Masri May 12, 2026 What the Dawn Taught MeThe flag rose not with fanfare but with quiet dignity, and I understood that patriotism need not be loud to be true. The old people practicing tai chi in Ba Dinh Square moved like water—slow, intentional, unhurried—and I stood among them, learning that mornings are not for rushing but for remembering who we are when no one is watching. Quang An Flower Market blushed with color, Long Bien Bridge creaked with history, and the Old Quarter offered me a bowl of pho and a plastic stool, and I sat there, finally still, finally present, finally awake.

Verified PurchaseBy Declan Murphy May 12, 2026 I Woke Up at 5 AM and I'm Not Even MadWho knew that watching a flag go up at dawn could be so moving? Not me, but here we are—teary-eyed at 6 AM in Ba Dinh Square like a fool. Then tai chi with the locals (I was terrible), a flower market that smelled like heaven, and a walk across Long Bien Bridge that made me feel like I was in a war movie. The Old Quarter at sunrise is a different world—quiet, kind, covered in steam from noodle carts. I ate pho on a tiny stool and watched Hanoi wake up. Best early morning of my life. Worth the alarm.

Verified PurchaseBy Sven Lindholm May 8, 2026 Before the City WakesSix in the morning. The flag went up. The square filled with old people moving slowly, practicing tai chi like a silent prayer. We walked to the flower market—roses, lilies, buckets of color. Then the bridge: iron, old, scarred. The Red River below, brown and patient. The Old Quarter was waking—coffee, noodles, children in white uniforms. I ate breakfast on a plastic stool. Hanoi, I saw you before you put on your mask. You were beautiful.

Verified PurchaseBy Amira Taha May 6, 2026 A Small Slice of Hanoi MorningI did not know that watching a flag rise could feel like a prayer, but there I stood in Ba Dinh Square, the sky blushing pink behind the mausoleum, and something in my chest grew quiet and full. The flower market welcomed me with wet petals and kind eyes—a vendor pressed a white lotus into my palm and said something I did not understand but felt completely. Long Bien Bridge held me over the Red River like a hand, and the Old Quarter fed me pho on a plastic stool while the city stretched and yawned and began its day. I returned to my hotel not tired, but tender—touched by a morning that had asked nothing of me but to be present.

Verified PurchaseBy Kai Williams May 6, 2026 Sunrise, Sweat, and Pho5:30 AM wake-up call. Worth it. Ba Dinh Square at dawn: flag goes up, crowd goes quiet, I go unexpectedly emotional. Then tai chi with the locals (I was a disaster, they were graceful), badminton with an old man who destroyed me, and a walk through Quang An Flower Market that made my Instagram followers jealous. Long Bien Bridge is a photographer's dream—rust, river, history. Then the Old Quarter: coffee, pho, chaos starting to stir. I ate breakfast on a sidewalk, sweaty and happy. Best morning of the trip. No contest.

Verified PurchaseBy Natalia Sorokina May 4, 2026 Hanoi Before the RoarThe flag rose slowly against a sky still soft with sleep, and the square held its breath—then exhaled into a symphony of tai chi movements, badminton rackets, and the gentle shuffle of elderly feet on wet pavement. We wandered through Quang An Flower Market as the city woke, buckets of lotus and roses dripping onto our shoes, and walked the iron bones of Long Bien Bridge while the Red River slid by like a brown ribbon beneath a waking sun. By the time we reached the Old Quarter, Hanoi was fully alive—children running to school, coffee dripping into glasses, a woman selling pho from a cart older than me—and I understood that the city's true magic happens before most tourists ever open their eyes.

Verified PurchaseBy Megan Sullivan(United States (US))April 10, 2026 Hanoi Early BirdIf you're an early riser who loves authentic food and wants to see Hanoi wake up, this 3-hour morning tour is absolutely perfect. Our guide met us at our hotel at 6:30 AM, and we immediately dove into the magical chaos of the Old Quarter's morning market — vendors setting up their stalls, locals haggling over fresh herbs and exotic fruits, and the irresistible aroma of street food filling every alley. We started with a steaming bowl of pho bo (beef noodle soup) at a tiny sidewalk spot that had been there for over 40 years — hands down the best pho I've ever tasted. Then came bun cha with grilled pork, fresh herbs, and a dipping sauce that was pure magic. We also tried banh cuon (steamed rice rolls stuffed with minced pork and wood ear mushrooms) while watching a grandmother prepare them fresh on a steaming hot skillet. Along the way, our guide shared fascinating stories about Hanoi's culinary traditions, pointed out hidden temples we would have walked right past, and even taught us how to order coffee like a local — "nóng" for hot, "đá" for iced. By 9:30 AM, we were completely full, happy, and ready to start our day. If you want to taste the real Hanoi before the crowds arrive, don't miss this tour. Worth waking up early for!Date of Experience: April 01, 2026

Verified PurchaseBy David Kim(South Korea)April 9, 2026 Early morning in VietnamThere's something magical about watching a city wake up. This early morning tour started at 6:00 AM at Ba Dinh Square, where I stood among silent locals as the Vietnamese flag rose slowly against the pale sky – no music, no speeches, just quiet pride. Then something unexpected happened: I joined a group of elderly Hanoians doing Tai Chi under ancient trees, my stiff movements earning me gentle smiles and a thumbs-up. We wandered to Quang An Flower Market, where the air smelled of jasmine and dawn, then walked across the legendary Long Bien Bridge as the Red River glowed gold beneath us. But the real heart of this tour was the Old Quarter at sunrise – narrow streets coming alive with mobile fruit vendors, sidewalk coffee stalls steaming, children in white uniforms biking to school, and the constant hum of motorbikes warming up for another day. My guide encouraged me to stop for a proper Hanoi breakfast: a steaming bowl of pho on a tiny plastic stool while watching the world blur past. No museums, no tickets, no rushed itineraries – just raw, beautiful, everyday Hanoi. If you want to see Vietnam's capital without the crowds and with a full dose of soul, set your alarm early. It's worth every lost minute of sleepDate of Experience: April 02, 2026
