Verified PurchaseBy Mark Thompson(New Zealand)April 17, 2026 Hanoi – Ninh Binh & Cuc Phuong National Park Tour 3 daysThis 3-day tour was the ideal mix of stunning landscapes, wildlife, and history — all within easy reach of Hanoi. Day one took us to Ninh Binh, often called 'Halong Bay on land,' and it did not disappoint. We took a peaceful sampan boat ride through Tam Coc, gliding along the river as local women rowed with their feet, passing through towering limestone caves and endless rice paddies. A short bike ride through rural villages took us to Bich Dong Pagoda, a centuries-old temple built into the side of a mountain — climbing to the top was absolutely worth it for the panoramic views. Day two was completely different: Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam's oldest national park and a paradise for nature lovers. We trekked through ancient jungle, spotting butterflies, exotic birds, and even a troop of playful gibbons. The highlight was the Endangered Primate Rescue Center — seeing the work being done to protect the critically endangered langurs was both heartbreaking and inspiring. We spent the night at the park's guesthouse, falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle. Day three included a visit to a 7,000-year-old archaeological site (Cave of the Early Man) before heading back to Hanoi. Our guide was knowledgeable about both history and ecology, and the pace was relaxed but well-organized. If you love nature, history, and off-the-beaten-path experiences, this tour is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!Date of Experience: April 10, 2026
