Itinerary
Depart from Ha Noi in the morning and travel by comfortable private vehicle toward Sa Pa, passing through the scenic landscapes of northern Vietnam. Upon arrival in Sa Pa, continue uphill to Topas Ecolodge, spectacularly located on a remote hilltop surrounded by mountains and terraced rice fields.
Check in to your bungalow and take time to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, panoramic views, and fresh mountain air. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the lodge surroundings, unwind by the infinity pool, or simply admire the sunset over the Hoang Lien mountain range. Dinner is served at the lodge’s restaurant, featuring fresh local ingredients.
Overnight at Topas Ecolodge.
You commence the walk from Topas Ecolodge along the footpaths of Silver Stone Mount. During the walk you will witness the stunning views of the valleys and rice paddy terraces. At noon you will arrive at the Lech village, inhabited by the Red Dao minority. You will visit the village and have your lunch at a local house.
After lunch, you will continue the walk to a nearby Red Dao village. If it is a school day, a visit to the village’s school is a nice opportunity to meet all the children, who can be from Red Dao or H’mong minority, or are of different ages, but share the same classroom. From the village, you will follow the hill trails up to the main road, and enjoy the surrounding breath-taking view of dotted peaks, endless rice terraces, and the beautiful Muong Bo river. You will arrive back at Topas Ecolodge after another 15-minute walk on the main road.
Optional: If you’re in search of a more demanding and immersive trekking adventure, consider extending your morning route from Lech Dao village to Lech Mong village. This journey offers the chance to connect with the Black H’mong minority community and visit a local Black H’mong household, providing an invaluable opportunity to experience their vibrant culture and traditions up close. Following this enriching cultural interaction, descend to the valley floor, where a Vietnamese lunch awaits, graciously prepared by a local family.
This trek spans roughly 11–12 kilometers and entails 5–6 hours of walking throughout the day.
Overnight at Topas Ecolodge.
After breakfast, check out and begin a scenic trek descending from the lodge into the renowned Muong Hoa Valley. Walk through lush terraced rice fields and ethnic minority villages, capturing panoramic views of one of the most beautiful valleys in northern Vietnam.
Continue the walk toward Ta Van village, where you will meet your vehicle for the transfer back to Sa Pa. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy free time to explore Sa Pa town, visit the local market, or relax at a café overlooking the mountains.
Overnight in Sa Pa.
After breakfast, transfer to the Fansipan cable car station for an unforgettable journey to the summit of Fansipan, known as the “Roof of Indochina” at 3,143 meters above sea level. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range before reaching the peak, where you can take photos and explore the mountain-top complex.
Descend by cable car and begin the return journey to Ha Noi. Arrive in Ha Noi in the late afternoon or early evening and transfer to your hotel, concluding your northern highlands adventure.

Verified PurchaseBy Jessica Williams April 9, 2026 Sapa & Topas EcolodgeThis 4-day Sapa experience was absolutely worth every penny. From the moment we stepped into the Topas Mountain Express limousine in Hanoi, we knew we were in for something special. The lodge itself is breathtaking — perched on a hilltop deep inside Hoang Lien National Park, about 45 minutes outside Sapa town . The private bungalow was beautifully designed with local stone and a huge window facing the misty valley. The highlight? Those two-level infinity pools overlooking the rice terraces — the upper one is heated, so even on chilly mountain mornings, you can soak while watching the clouds drift by . We spent our days trekking through remote Red Dao villages, far from the tourist crowds, and returned each afternoon to the Rice Spa for a traditional Red Dao herbal bath — pure bliss for tired legs . The food at the Stilt House Restaurant was delicious, though you should budget around $60–$80 per person per day for meals since you're far from town . The only small downside? The lodge is remote by design — you can't just "pop into town" — but the complimentary shuttle makes it easy enough if you want to explore Sapa itself . If you're looking for a true luxury escape with stunning scenery, total peace, and genuine cultural immersion, this is the one. Just go between September and October for golden rice terraces and clear skies !Date of Experience: April 01, 2026
