(TITC) – On 13 July, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) had a meeting with Mr. Yunus Ete, Chairman of the World Halal Summit Council and Chairman of Discover Events, to strengthen cooperation in Halal tourism.

During the session, both sides discussed key initiatives regarding cooperation in the Halal sector, with a specific focus on Halal tourism. Mr. Yunus Ete briefed the VNAT leadership on the 12th World Halal Summit and the Halal Expo 2026, which are scheduled to take place in Istanbul, Turkey, from November 15 to 28, 2026.
According to Chairman of the World Halal Summit Council, the World Halal Summit and Halal Expo are held annually and rank among the largest and most prominent international events in the global Halal industry, drawing participation from numerous countries.


Organised by Discover Events in collaboration with the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), and other relevant bodies under the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), these events aim to create a platform for trade exchange and foster international cooperation across all Halal-compliant sectors, products, and services.
In addition to introducing the 2026 events, Mr. Yunus Ete discussed potential collaboration in Halal tourism and explored the possibility of hosting the World Halal Summit in Vietnam in 2027.
VNAT’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai expressed her appreciation for Mr. Yunus Ete’s interest in Vietnam’s Halal tourism industry. She committed to facilitating the dissemination of information regarding the 12th World Halal Summit and Halal Expo 2026 to Vietnamese tourism businesses to encourage their participation.
Furthermore, VNAT’s Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai stated that VNAT stands ready to coordinate with relevant agencies to study the feasibility of hosting the 2027 Halal Summit in Vietnam.
