Overnight in Hanoi.

As evening falls, indulge in a gourmet dinner in an intimate and sophisticated setting, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of Ha Long Bay.

Verified PurchaseBy Mark Peterson May 16, 2026 What to Pack, What to Expect, What to Train ForBike quality: Tour provided solid mountain bikes (Trek/Giant). Bring your own saddle if sensitive. Terrain breakdown: Days 1-2 (Hanoi/Countryside) – flat, easy. Day 4 (Hoa Binh to Ba Khan) – rolling hills. Day 6 (Mai Chau to Pu Luong) – STEEP climbs. Day 7 (Pu Luong to Cuc Phuong) – mixed. Daily distance: 30-50 km. Manageable for casual cyclists. Accommodation: Homestays (basic but clean) plus one hotel in Ninh Binh. Highlight: Pu Luong's descent (4 km of pure joy). Lowlight: Day 9 drive to Ha Long (not cycling). Verdict: Great for fit beginners. Train hills beforehand.

Verified PurchaseBy Isabella Rossi May 10, 2026 I CLIMBED MOUNTAINS. I CROSSED JUNGLES. I BECAME A GODDESS.Hanoi was just the prologue. THEN THE REAL JOURNEY BEGAN. Ba Khan appeared like a mythical kingdom—mist curling around mountains, the Black River roaring below. Mai Chau's valley stole my breath (and not just because of the hills). PU LUONG. Oh, Pu Luong. I climbed and climbed and climbed until I thought my heart would explode—and then I reached the top and SAW PARADISE. Cuc Phuong's monkeys judged me. Van Long's karsts reflected my triumphant face. TRANG AN was so beautiful I almost cried into my oar. HALONG BAY made me weep openly. Ten days. Two wheels. ONE LEGENDARY ME.

Verified PurchaseBy Lena Schmidt May 7, 2026 My Legs Hated Me. My Soul Thanked Me.Ten days. Hundreds of kilometers. One very sore behind. Hanoi's chaos was a warm-up, then we hit the countryside—rice paddies, water buffalo, children yelling "hello!" from dirt roads. Ba Khan village slept at the foot of mountains. Mai Chau's stilt houses welcomed us with ruou can (rice wine through bamboo tubes). Pu Luong's terraced fields nearly broke my knees (so many hills!). Cuc Phuong National Park gave us monkeys and century-old trees. Van Long's boat ride was a rest day for my legs. Ha Long Bay was the reward. I'm tired. I'm happy. I'm already looking at bikes online.

Verified PurchaseBy Elara Voss April 18, 2026 Wheels on Earth, Heart in the CloudsDay one: Hanoi's honking symphony. Day two: pedaling past emerald rice, each field a mirror to the sky. Ba Khan appeared like a dream—misty mountains, the Black River, a homestay family laughing. Mai Chau's valley unfolded in shades of green I didn't know existed. Pu Luong tested my thighs and rewarded my eyes—terraces carved by hands over centuries. Cuc Phuong's ancient trees whispered. Van Long's limestone karsts reflected in still water. Trang An felt like floating through a painting. Ha Long was the final poem. Ten days. Ten verses. I cycled through a prayer.

Verified PurchaseBy Jasper de Vries(Netherlands)April 17, 2026 Cycling Adventure in Vietnam, an amazing experience!270 kilometers of cycling, and a confused backside – but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. This tour threw me straight into Hanoi's chaos with a water puppet show (delightfully weird), then hit me with history at Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and the Temple of Literature before I even had time to recover from jet lag. Day three's countryside cycling across Long Bien Bridge was a gentle warm-up – 38 kilometers past banana islands and floating houses, ending with a home-cooked lunch that made me want to adopt a Vietnamese grandmother. Then things got real. Day four to eight took me through Hoa Binh's mountains, Ba Khan's serene reservoir, Mai Chau's stilt house valleys, Pu Luong's breathtaking rice terraces, Cuc Phuong's monkey-filled jungle, and Ninh Binh's sampan boat caves – all while pedaling anywhere from 35 to 65 kilometers daily. The Thai and Muong ethnic villages welcomed me with sticky rice, corn wine, and amused smiles at my sunburned face and questionable bike repair skills. The homestays were cozy (read: thin mattresses and 4 AM roosters), the guides were absolute legends at fixing flat tires and finding cold water when I was about to cry, and the scenery was so stunning that I forgot my legs were screaming. Day nine's luxury Ha Long Bay cruise felt like winning the lottery – a real bed, kayaking through limestone karsts, and a gourmet dinner that didn't involve me catching the fish first. This tour is for cyclists who want beautiful pain, authentic chaos, and the kind of memories that make airplane seats feel like a reward. Bring padded shorts, bug spray, and zero expectations of sleeping past sunrise.Date of Experience: April 08, 2026

Verified PurchaseBy Fatima Al-Mansouri April 16, 2026 Strangers Became Family on These RoadsI arrived alone. I left with 12 new siblings. We sweated together up Pu Luong's killer hills. We shared sticky rice on Mai Chau's floor. We laughed when someone's chain fell off for the fifth time. We cried a little (okay, a lot) when we saw Ha Long Bay at sunset—our reward after ten days of dust and effort. Ba Khan's grandmother fed us like we were her own children. Cuc Phuong's monkeys made us scream like children. This tour isn't just about cycling. It's about who you become when your legs give out and someone hands you water. Thank you, Vietnam. Thank you, team.

Verified PurchaseBy Seamus O'Leary March 21, 2026 I Thought I Was Fit. The Mountains Disagreed.I arrived in Hanoi thinking, "Sure, I cycle to the pub sometimes. How hard can it be?" HA. The countryside was lovely—flat, easy, I was a cycling god. Then Pu Luong happened. Hills that made me question every life choice. I walked. A lot. A local grandmother passed me on foot. I have never been so humbled. Ba Khan and Mai Chau were beautiful respites (and the rice wine helped numb the pain). Cuc Phuong's monkeys laughed at me. Ha Long Bay was worth the suffering. Would I do it again? Ask my knees in a week.

Verified PurchaseBy Clara van der Berg March 11, 2026 Tonight, I Pack My Bike and My HeartTomorrow we return to Hanoi. Tomorrow this ends. Tonight, I'm sitting on Ha Long Bay's boat deck, watching stars appear over limestone giants, trying to memorize every sore muscle and sunburn. I'll miss the dust of backroads. I'll miss the sound of 12 bikes humming together. I'll miss Ba Khan's rooster waking me at 5 am. I'll miss Pu Luong's impossible hills that made us stronger. I'll miss Trang An's silent caves. Vietnam, you gave me sore legs and a full heart. I'm not ready to leave. But I'll carry these ten days home like treasure. Thank you.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Anjali Mehta March 10, 2026 I Pedaled Through My Own LimitsI didn't know I could go this far. Hanoi's noise faded behind me as I cycled into silence—rice paddies, mountain shadows, the smell of wet earth. Ba Khan village taught me that a mattress on the floor and a bowl of sticky rice can be heaven. Mai Chau's women weave stories into their scarves. Pu Luong broke me open—every uphill a meditation, every downhill a release. Cuc Phuong's ancient trees have seen centuries; I was a breath in their presence. Van Long's boat was a floating prayer. By Ha Long, I wasn't the same person who landed ten days ago. The bike changed me.

Best homestay: Ba Khan village (family dinner, Black River view). Best non-cycling day: Trang An boat tour (limestone karsts, caves). Best reward: Ha Long Bay overnight cruise (you earned it). Hardest moment: Day 6 hills. Bring mental strength. Biggest surprise: Cuc Phuong's primate center (endangered langurs). Verdict: 9/10. Deduct one point for Day 9 drive (not cycling). Highly recommend.
