Verified PurchaseBy Rachel Green(United States (US))February 28, 2026 Sapa & Fansipan PeakThis 3-day Sapa adventure was the perfect balance of cultural trekking and mountain glory. Day one took us from Hanoi to Sapa, and after settling in, we immediately headed out for a soft trek through the stunning Muong Hoa Valley. Walking along terraced rice fields, crossing small streams, and visiting the Black H'mong and Giay villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van was an incredible introduction to local life — the people were warm, welcoming, and incredibly proud of their heritage. Day two was the main event: Fansipan, the 'Roof of Indochina' at 3,143 meters. The modern cable car system made the journey up smooth and comfortable, and the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking — endless mountain ranges stretching into misty clouds. We spent time exploring the mountain-top complex, including a beautiful pagoda and giant bronze statue, before descending. (Note: the cable car is an optional extra, but absolutely worth every dong!) Day three gave us free time to explore Sapa town itself — we visited the bustling market, bought handmade crafts from local ethnic women, and enjoyed a final bowl of thang co (a traditional Hmong dish) before heading back to Hanoi. Our guide was fantastic, the homestay in Ta Van was simple but warm and authentic, and the whole trip ran smoothly. Whether you're a serious trekker or just want to stand on top of Southeast Asia, this 3-day journey delivers. Just bring comfortable shoes and a jacket — it gets chilly up there!Date of Experience: February 18, 2026
