A testament to the tenacity of the Vietnamese people, the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels are a labyrinth of narrow passages used as hideouts during the war. Located approximately 55km northwest of Sai Gon, you will explore sections of the extensive network that served as an underground city in the not-too-distant past.

Itinerary

Pick up at your hotel in Sai Gon city center and depart for Cu Chi Tunnels.
09:30
Arrive at Cu Chi. Watch a short documentary film introducing the history and construction of the tunnel system during the Vietnam War.
09:45 – 11:00
Explore the Cu Chi Tunnels complex with your guide. Discover hidden trapdoors, underground bunkers, kitchens, meeting rooms, and storage areas. You may crawl through a safe section of the tunnels to experience life underground.
11:00 – 11:20
Enjoy local specialties such as boiled cassava and tea, once eaten by soldiers during the war. Optional visit to the shooting range (at own expense).
11:20 – 12:30
Depart Cu Chi and return to Sai Gon.
12:30 – 13:00
Arrive back at your hotel. End of tour.

The shock came when we tested the firing range – real M16 gunfire echoing through the trees, loud enough to shake my bones. Then we crawled through rebuilt tunnels (dark, humid, claustrophobic) and emerged sweating, grateful for sunlight and fresh air. Boiled cassava with sesame salt – the guerrillas' wartime meal – tasted humble and profound. This isn't a comfortable tour. It's an honest, powerful, unforgettable lesson in resilience.
