Verified PurchaseBy Kaelan Jones May 20, 2026 No Poetry. Just Rock and River.Forget the pretty words. Ha Giang is sharp, loud, and terrifying. Tham Ma Slope nearly threw me off my bike, and the Twin Mountains made me feel smaller than a grain of rice. But Ma Pi Leng Pass—that stretch of road where the mountain drops away and the Nho Que River glows like a curse—that place broke me open and left me gasping. I took no photos. I just stood there, shaking, and let Vietnam win.
-

Verified PurchaseBy Mei-Lin Huang May 18, 2026 A Quiet MiracleThe M Shaped Bend did not announce itself. It simply appeared—a curve so perfect it seemed drawn by a calligraphy brush, the valley below holding its breath. Pa Vi welcomed me with a homestay family who offered tea without asking my name, and I slept to the sound of water buffalo bells and distant thunder. On the sleeper bus back to Hanoi, I pressed my forehead to the cold window and watched the mountains retreat into mist, carrying with me something I had not arrived with: a quiet, certain peace.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Anjali Mehta May 18, 2026 The Loop That Changed MeI arrived in Ha Giang City afraid—of heights, of winding roads, of my own limits. By the time I reached Lung Cu's northernmost flagpole, I had forgotten fear entirely, replaced by something larger: the quiet certainty that I belonged in these mountains. Ma Pi Leng Pass broke me open and put me back together, and the Nho Que River below was the color of forgiveness. When the sleeper bus carried me back to Hanoi, I was not the same woman who had boarded it days before.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Elara Voss May 15, 2026 Where the Mountains Touch HeavenThe sleeper bus carried me north through darkness, and I woke to a world that had been folded and crumpled by gods—mountains stacked upon mountains, their limestone faces sharp as broken teeth. Tham Ma Slope tested my courage as we climbed switchback after switchback, and at the top, the H'mong King Palace waited like a forgotten throne. But Ma Pi Leng Pass undid me completely: the Nho Que River snaking far below, turquoise and impossibly distant, and I stood at the edge knowing I would never see anything more beautiful for the rest of my life.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Zara Khan May 13, 2026 Adrenaline and AshesThe sleeper bus was purgatory. The loop was heaven. Tham Ma Slope threw curveballs like a spiteful pitcher, and the Twin Mountains rose up like green waves frozen mid-crash. But Ma Pi Leng—oh, Ma Pi Leng—I stood on that pass and the world fell away into the Nho Que River's turquoise throat, and I screamed into the wind not from fear but from sheer, ridiculous joy. I returned to Hanoi with windburned cheeks and a grin that took three days to fade.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Hanna Weiss May 13, 2026 I Left My Shadow on Ma Pi LengMonths later, I still close my eyes and see the M Shaped Bend folding into Duong Thuong Valley, green upon green upon impossible green. The sleeper bus rocked me north, then south again, and somewhere between Pa Vi and Ha Giang City, I lost something—my fear, my hurry, my need to understand everything at once. Now I sit in my Vienna apartment with a single photograph of the Nho Que River pinned to my fridge, and every time I look at it, I disappear back into that turquoise dream.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Mateo Fernandez May 13, 2026 No Filters. No Regrets. The mountains were brutal, the roads terrifying, and the homestay coffee the best thing I have ever tasted. Tham Ma Slope made my driver curse in three languages, but the view from the top made us both shut up and stare. Ma Pi Leng Pass is not a place—it is a religion, and the Nho Que River is its god. I left a piece of my soul on that road, and I don't want it back.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Lucia Marchetti May 12, 2026 A Ribbon of JadeThe M Shaped Bend curved like a lover's arm around Duong Thuong Valley, and I pressed my hand to my chest to keep my heart from flying out. Dong Van held me in its rocky cradle, while the H'mong King Palace whispered stories of opium wars and forgotten kings into the humid air. Then Ma Pi Leng opened its jaws, and the Nho Que River spilled below—a ribbon of jade, a vein of pure color—and I understood that some places are not visited but surrendered to.
-
Verified PurchaseBy John Mercer May 12, 2026 A Spine of StoneHa Giang does not welcome you. It simply exists—sharp, unforgiving, beautiful. I slept on a bus, then climbed Tham Ma Slope, then stood at Lung Cu where the flag flapped against a sky the color of old denim. Ma Pi Leng Pass was the hardest: the road thin as thread, the drop endless, the Nho Que River a green ribbon I could almost touch but never reach. By the time I returned to Hanoi, my legs remembered every curve, and I carried the mountains home in my bones.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Aditya Verma May 12, 2026 Fantastic Group Tour and Stunning LandscapesWe had an incredible time during the Ha Giang Loop Adventure 3 Days 4 Nights. The group atmosphere was friendly, and the easy riders were skilled and professional throughout the trip. The mountain roads and viewpoints in Ha Giang were breathtaking at every turn. It was an adventure we will never forget.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Hassan Mahmoud May 11, 2026 What the River Taught MeThe mountains have no interest in your schedule. They rise when they please, and you wait. At Lung Cu, I stood beneath the flag and felt how small a country becomes when measured against the sky. Ma Pi Leng Pass offered no comfort—only a road thin as thread and a river far below, flowing without apology. I learned nothing new up there. I only remembered something I had always known: that some beauty is too large for words, and silence is the only proper response.

Verified PurchaseBy Declan Murphy May 8, 2026 Bruised but BlessedThree days on a motorbike, one night on a bus, and a thousand kilometers of mountains that tried to break me—I have never been so destroyed and so delighted. The Twin Mountains laughed at my fear, Tham Ma Slope mocked my balance, but Ma Pi Leng Pass? Ma Pi Leng Pass held me like a mother and showed me the Nho Que River, and I forgot every bruise on my body. By the time I stumbled into Hanoi, my legs were jelly and my camera was full, and I was already plotting my return to Pa Vi's quiet rice terraces.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Anastasia Volkov May 8, 2026 Where the Sky Cracks OpenThe sleeper bus carried me through darkness toward a dawn that split the mountains like a prayer, and I woke to Ha Giang's limestone teeth biting at the clouds. Tham Ma Slope threw me into its serpentine curves, each turn a small death and resurrection, and at the H'mong King Palace, I traced my fingers along walls that had witnessed betrayals I would never understand. But Ma Pi Leng Pass was the altar where I left my fear—the Nho Que River coiled far below, impossibly green, and I stood at the edge knowing I had finally found something larger than myself.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Priya Sundaram May 7, 2026 The Mountains Remade MeI came to Ha Giang afraid of heights and left with my arms open to the sky. The H'mong King Palace taught me that empires crumble but stories remain, while Dong Van's cobbled streets held the laughter of children who had never seen a flat horizon. Ma Pi Leng Pass was the final lesson: stand at the edge, look down at the Nho Que River, and trust that the drop will not swallow you. The sleeper bus took me home, but the mountains stayed—folded somewhere behind my ribs, patient and green.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Piam O'Sulliva May 5, 2026 My Heart Is Still on Those RoadsThree days on a motorbike, four mountain passes, and a sleeper bus that rocked me to sleep like a cranky baby—I have never been so tired and so alive. The Nho Que River from Ma Pi Leng Pass was the color of melted emeralds, and I stood there frozen, forgetting to take a single photograph. By the time I stumbled off the bus in Hanoi, my face was sunburned, my hands were cramped, and I was already planning my return to the M Shaped Bend that had bent my soul.

Verified PurchaseBy Sven Lindström April 16, 2026 Stone and SilenceThe road to Dong Van is not kind. It punishes. My bones rattled on Tham Ma Slope, and the Twin Mountains watched like indifferent gods. At Lung Cu, the flag cracked against a sky the color of old iron, and I looked north at nothing but more mountains. Ma Pi Leng Pass demanded everything—my breath, my balance, my quiet awe. I gave it all. The sleeper bus carried me back to Hanoi three days later, and I have not stopped seeing green since.
-
Verified PurchaseBy Sofia Ribeiro April 16, 2026 A Love Letter to the LoopThe twin mountains rose like lovers frozen mid-embrace, and I whispered their names into the wind as our motorbike climbed toward Dong Van. Tham Ma Slope was a dragon's spine, each curve a prayer, and the H'mong King Palace held centuries of silence in its crumbling courtyards. But Ma Pi Leng—oh, Ma Pi Leng—you stole my voice and gave it to the river, and now I wander the flatlands of home still looking for your impossible green.

Verified PurchaseBy Jack March 25, 2026 Great tour !I recently joined the Hanoi – Dong Van – Meo Vac 3 days 4 nights tour, and it was truly one of the most unforgettable trips I’ve ever had. Departing from Hà Nội on an overnight bus, the journey was quite long but worth it once we reached the breathtaking landscapes of Hà Giang. One of the highlights was driving along the famous Mã Pí Lèng Pass, where the views of deep valleys and winding roads were absolutely stunning. We also visited Đồng Văn, with its charming old quarter, and explored Mèo Vạc, which felt more remote and authentic. The scenery throughout the trip was dramatic, with rocky mountains, terraced fields, and traditional villages of ethnic minorities. The itinerary was quite packed, and there was a lot of time spent on the road, but the experience was incredibly rewarding. Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, sharing interesting stories about local culture and history. Accommodation was simple but comfortable, suitable for the remote area.Overall, this tour is perfect for adventure lovers who want to explore the raw beauty of northern Vietnam. It can be tiring due to long travel hours, but the stunning landscapes and unique cultural experiences make it absolutely worthwhile.Date of Experience: March 01, 2026
